Teaching Methods

Being a vocational college our emphasis is on providing up-to-date, practical and applied course materials and teaching methods. Our Trainers are both academically qualified and experienced in the professional worlds of business. We also have a mix of Australian native English speaking trainers and others from a diversity of different cultures with a deep understanding to the challenges faced by international students. This means they are well equipped to understand students’ needs and to adapt the course materials and their presentation styles to the needs of their students in what for many is a new environment. All classroom activities are conducted in English, with a mix of presentation styles and classroom activities designed to keep our students actively engaged in both practical and theoretical learning. A lot of learning is practical and hands-on, with students undertaking individual small group activities, simulation exercises and projects, presentations and computer based exercises.

Assessment Methods

Assessment tasks are designed to test students’ knowledge, practical skills and approach to work, with a mix of individual and group tasks, tests, practical industry based exercises, presentations and tests. The assessments are competency based, with students being graded as either Competent or Not Yet Competent. All students receive feedback on all assessment tasks and those who are graded as Not Yet Competent are provided with additional support to help them re-submit their assessment tasks to gain a Competent grade.

Learning Support for Students

ZBA provides additional assistance for students having difficulties with their studies. For example, free workshops are provided for students who have met all their visa conditions but who are struggling to gain Competent grades in some subjects/units. They can also seek additional support with English language difficulties.

Student Counselling

If a student has other problems of adjustment, finding employment, family problems, emotional and health issues, they are encouraged to see our student services officers and can be referred for professional assistance.

Zenith Business Academy seeks to provide an educational service for our students as people with real personalities and needs. We don’t just teach subjects and ignore your needs.
